Rainy Day

 

I love rainy days.

Don't get me wrong, I am still anxiously awaiting the arrival of summer.
I think today would be perfect if it were about 30' warmer.

In honor of the cold, rainy weather we're having today, I'm making soup for dinner.
This is the first time that I have ever made soup.
It's a recipe for potato soup that I found on the internet yesterday.
It's been simmering in the crock pot all day and my house is really starting to smell good.

I'm ready for  summer, but I know that as soon as it gets here, I will miss the days when I could curl up with a blanket and a bowl of soup and listen to the rain fall.

Here's to enjoying the day we've been given.

I'm tired of being stuck inside.

You Capture: Red

The theme for You Capture this week was red, although with all the snow we got, I'm thinking it should have been white.

I got so distracted by the storm that I forgot about You Capture until this morning...and that is when I took these pictures.

That's all I've got for this week.

You Capture: Happy

The theme for You Capture this week was happy. I wish I would have had a little more time and inspiration this week, but I didn't.

I did manage to take a few pictures this week, so I am HAPPY about that.

You Capture: Circles

This weeks on You Capture our theme was circles.

I'm still pretty new to You Capture and I seem to have a problem with waiting until the last minute to get my pictures. Luckily, this week was pretty easy because there are circles everywhere.

You Capture: Doorways

I wasn't feeling very inspired this week.

I almost skipped this You Capture, but decided against it. 

It was too cold to go outside, so I had to make do with what I could find in my own house.

It's not much, but this is definitely my favorite door because when I see it, I know that I'm home.

Snow Day

I've been busy.

It has been a good kind of busy. The kind where I get a chance to spend some time with friends and family.

Still... I feel like it's been a while since I've done anything productive.

It has been snowing all day. It hasn't stopped once.

The thing about snow is that it's silent and it sneaks up on you.

You don't hear it in the middle of the night like you do rain.

This is the first "big" snow we've gotten this season, so I probably shouldn't complain.

But I will.

I don't like the snow. It's pretty to look at, but I don't want to go out in it.
