Saturday

Today was a good day.

We celebrated Christmas for the first of many times this season.

Right now I am trying to clean because my dad is coming over tomorrow.

Hopefully I'll have more to blog about tomorrow.

Day 3 Part 1

We woke up at 7:00am. We decided to go to the food court for breakfast because I had been wanting to try the beignets. I had heard from several people that if you were staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, then you had to try the beignets.
They were good but a little messy.

After breakfast we went to the bus stop to catch the bus to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We got to the park about 8:30am and the park didn’t open until 9:00am, so we stood in line. I took pictures while we waited.

Then it was time for the park opening ceremony. It was cute and the characters were very funny.

We went ahead and followed the crowd to Toy Story Mania since we had never ridden it before and we knew that the wait would just get longer as the day went on.

I tried to snap some pictures of the queue area, but since there was no line I had to keep moving and didn’t get a chance for many pictures.

The ride was amazing and we decided to grab a fastpass so that we could come back and ride it again later.

After that it was time to head to one of my favorite rides.

It was just as good as I remembered.

After that it was time to ride another first for us, The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. We didn’t get a chance to ride it when we were there in 2007 because it was closed for refurbishment. We both really liked it as well.

Then we went to ride The Great Movie Ride. This is a favorite from my childhood. I rode it on my very first trip to Disney World. I think I was 6 at the time.

After walking around for a bit, it was time to use our fastpass for Toy Story Mania. We had fun and we got another fastpass for later on after we were done.

Then it was time for our lunch reservation at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. I had a smoked turkey sandwich and peanut butter chocolate cake for dessert. I don’t remember what Luke had, but I think we were both happy with the food. I do remember ordering a drink called the Space Monkey and it was awesome. It even came with a ice cube that light up different colors.

I didn’t get a lot of pictures here because I am always afraid that I am going to bother people if I use the flash on my camera.

What I Did Today

1. Dishes

2. That's all.

I'm not really feeling it today.

I've been trying to think of something to blog about all day.

I still haven't come up with anything.

I'll try to have an update on the trip report tomorrow.

Wish I Was There...

It's been 3 months since we went on vacation.

I think it's time for another one.

I miss the beach.

Also, it's cold here.

Day 2 Part 3

*I have decided that I am going to try to finish this trip report. Since it has been so long, I might have forgotten some of the details. I’ll do the best I can.

The first thing we noticed when we got to the Magic Kingdom was that it was very crowded. I expected this because it was a Sunday.

We walked over to Adventureland and rode Pirates of the Caribbean. We noticed that most rides had really long lines. Since we knew that we would be back at least 2 more times that week, we didn’t bother waiting in any of the lines. Instead we just walked around and enjoyed the park.

It was so hot and crowded that we decided to catch the train in  Frontierland and ride it to the front of the park. From there, we walked back down Main Street U.S.A. and checked into The Crystal Palace for our dining reservation.

There was a long line waiting to check in and there was an even larger number of people waiting to be seated, so I figured that we would be waiting a while.

I was wrong. It took maybe 2 minutes before our name was being called and we were lead into the restaurant. We were shown to our table and because we were celebrating our anniversary there was a cute confetti heart on our table. It was really sweet.

The food was good, but of course the highlight of the meal was meeting the characters.

Tigger was first. He kinda snuck up behind me when I wasn’t paying attention.  He thought it was funny.

Winnie the Pooh came by second. I don’t have pictures of these two because my husband has the pictures of me with the characters on his camera and he didn’t have his picture taken with them.

Piglet was next and he was very sweet. He kissed me on the cheek.

Eeyore was the last, but he was the one I was most excited for. I actually went back to the buffet for a second dessert just so I could have an excuse to wait for him to come around.

After dinner I took some pictures.

Then we rode the Jungle Cruise. It was funny as always.

After the Jungle Cruise we were very tired. We had gotten the text from the resort telling us which room we had, so we decided to head back and get the car unpacked.

We knew which building we were in and we knew we would be on the third floor, but it did take us a while to find the elevators. There were done on the other end of our building and that was the only time I ever used them. Our room was very close to the stairs.

Once we had brought all of our bags up to the room, we headed to the food court and bought our refillable mugs.

Then we went back to the room and slept. We had a very busy week ahead of us.

Good News!

I think I might be able to finish my trip report that I started back in October.

Even though I never typed it up, I did write down notes for most of it. I should have enough info to get me through the trip report.

I am going to start in tomorrow. I probably won’t do a trip report post everyday, but at least a couple times a week.

Now I need to get back to writing it up before I change my mind.

*By the way, I watched Eclipse. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but it was okay.

Saturday

I am almost done with all of my Christmas shopping. I have few more gifts to buy and then I will be completely done.

I had fun with my mom yesterday and I wish that I could hang out with her more often.

I do not have any major plans for today. I am going to wrap some gifts and probably watch Eclipse. I bought Eclipse today and I did not see it in theaters so I don’t know what to expect.

It’s going to be a lazy Saturday for me.

A Recap

On Tuesday night, my husband and I made a gingerbread house.
We had never done anything like it before, so we used a kit thinking it would be easier.
It was easy.
It included everything we needed.
I was surprised to see that nothing was broken.

Of course, until I dropped a candy cane.

This was our end result.

We had enough candy to do more decorating, but honestly, we got bored with it.
It was fun and I am glad we did it.
Maybe next year we will try to be more creative.

After we were done with that we drove to the Plaza to see the Christmas lights.
We also went to Christmas in the Park and looked at the light displays there.
Christmas in the Park has been a yearly tradition for us and we really enjoy it every year.

Now I'm off to do some shopping with my mom.

Still Tired

I can’t believe that I am still sooo tired after NaNoWriMo. Actually, I don’t know if NaNoWriMo is the actual problem or not, but that is what I am blaming in on.

I need to get motivated to clean this house before the holidays.

I still have gifts to buy.

I have huge amounts of laundry to do.

My mother is coming tomorrow to do some shopping, which is great but I won’t have time to do anything else tomorrow.

OH! I have good news too! My NaNoWriMo winner’s shirt came in the mail yesterday. I wasn’t expecting it until maybe next Monday because it usually takes at least a week when I order things from them.

It was a nice surprise and I will have it to wear if I decide to go to the TGIO Party on Sunday.

Off to clean the house,
Jenn

What A Month!!

I know I have not been on here a lot lately, but I’ve been busy. The good news is that in November I participated in NaNoWriMo for the second time and I won for the second time.

I’m not going to lie, it seemed harder this time. At one point I was 10,000 words behind and I wanted to just give up, but I didn’t. I’d like to say a stuck it out because of some great work ethic, but really I just wanted to get a winners shirt. I know that I could buy one even if I didn’t win, but that would just seem wrong.

I don’t know when I will be getting back to the trip report, but hopefully it will be soon. I don’t know how much I will remember, but if nothing else I can at least post some more pictures.

Now I am going to go rest. After writing a novel in a month I am a little exhausted. I am hoping to get a little bit of rest before Christmas gets any closer.

Day 2 Part 2

The first thing we did when we got to Epcot was ride Spaceship Earth. We had missed this ride last time we were there because it had been closed, so we were both excited to ride it this time. There was a little bit of a line, but because it moves pretty fast, it only took a couple minutes before we were loaded onto the ride.

We both enjoyed our ride and we liked watching our little video at the end.

We took some pictures of the fountains on our way to check the line for Soarin.

There wasn’t much of a line at Soarin, so we went ahead and rode it.

This ride was even better than I remembered! I was so glad that we decided to ride it, because it really wasn’t on the itinerary for that day. I actually hadn’t planned on us riding many rides at Epcot on this day because I knew we would be back a couple of times throughout the week, but the lines were so short, we had more than enough time.

After that, we rode Journey into Imagination. This was another ride that we had missed on our last trip to Disney World. There was no line at this ride at all. We actually walked all the way through the queue and up to the ride vehicle and just got on. It was pretty cool, although it looked like there was some cool stuff to see while you wait in line, but we just had to walk past it all. This was a really fun ride, and I had hoped that we would get to ride it again later in the week, but we never did.

We were getting hungry, as it was lunch time, so we headed to Paris to visit the pastry shop they had. We knew we didn’t want a really big lunch because we had reservations at a buffet for dinner that night, and we didn’t want to be full when we got there.

We each ended up using a snack credit (we were on the dining plan) to buy a ham and cheese croissant. We ate our lunch outside in the little seating area. We both enjoyed our lunch, it was very good. Also, one of the things I love about the World Showcase is that you can kind of lose yourself in the countries. We were sort of in the back of the France pavilion and it wasn’t crowded at all. It was easy to forget you were at Disney World, and imagine being outside a little shop in France. It was wonderful.

After we ate, we walked through the shops for a bit. I had heard about a Grand Mariner Orange Slush that I had wanted to try, so I got one of those while Luke got an ice cream cone and we found a seat by the lagoon so we could relax and just take in the atmosphere. It had been 3 years since we had been here, and it was a lot to soak in.

While we were sitting, a cute little show started up right in front of us. It was basically a guy balancing on chairs, and it was very impressive.

*Notice that the chair on the bottom is balanced on bottles.

*That yellow and red balloon is something that we plan on riding later in the week. We were impressed that we could see it from there since it’s actually located in Downtown Disney.

Next, we were headed to Canada, because there was a band called Off Kilter that was getting ready to play and I thought that Luke would like their music.

It was hot that day, so we were glad when we got a seat in the shade. We kind of felt bad for all the people sitting on the other side because they really didn’t have much shade.

The group was really good, and I think Luke enjoyed the music. We only stayed for a few songs and then we got out of there. It was just to hot to sit there with all those people around you.

We headed to the front of the park because we needed to catch the monorail to Magic Kingdom, as that is where we would be eating that night.

It was so hot, that by the time we made it to the front of the park we were ready for another break, so we rode Spaceship Earth again just so we could sit down and get out of the heat. We pretty much walked on the ride this time, and we enjoyed our little trip through history.

Then it was off to the monorail so we could get to the Magic Kingdom.
